Carnival Freedom: Fun Ship or Fire Ship? ️
Hey travelers! Buckle up for a wild ride, because this Carnival Freedom cruise wasn’t exactly what we signed up for. Let’s just say “unforgettable” took on a whole new meaning.
Interior Chaos?
This was our first time with an interior cabin, and let’s just say it wasn’t exactly luxurious. But hey, who needs windows when you have…well, not much else.
Stormy Seasickness
Day three brought some unwelcome guests: giant waves and even stormier stomachs. The “essential services” like casinos and bars remained open, while the fresh air decks became a no-go zone.
Fire on the Fun Ship!
Things got even more exciting (read: terrifying) when a fire erupted on the funnel! Luckily, the crew contained it, but not before some serious balcony bans and a healthy dose of drama.
From Princess Kay to Freeport?
Our planned stop at Princess Cays, Carnival’s private island paradise, got cancelled thanks to the storm. Instead, we were rerouted to Freeport, Bahamas. But hey, at least the buffet opened back up before it was too far into the evening. ️
Family Fun (and Fire Drawings)?
While things got dicey, we tried to make the most of it. Kate even drew a hilarious picture of our fiery adventure, complete with a burning Build-A-Bear!
Lightning Strikes Twice (Literally)
The plot twist? The fire was apparently caused by a lightning strike! Mother Nature, you’re a real piece of work. ️
The Show Must Go On (Even After a Fire)
Despite the whole burning ship fiasco, dinner service continued as scheduled. Talk about a stiff upper lip (or maybe just a strong cocktail?)
Aftermath and Ahoy, Bahamas!
The fire’s out, the rain has stopped (mostly), and we’re finally setting sail for Freeport. Stay tuned for our next vlog, where we’ll explore the Bahamas (hopefully without any more fire drills). ️
